Set realistic goals for the week

One of the best ways to ensure a productive week is to set realistic goals. This may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how often people set goals that are either too difficult or too easy to achieve.

It’s easy to get discouraged and fall behind when your goals are unattainable or uninspiring. That’s why it’s important to find a happy medium—goals that challenge you without completely overwhelming you.

Here are a few tips on how to set realistic goals for the week: 

Prioritize your goals: Take a look at your list of things to do and ask yourself what is most important. Whether it’s finishing that project for work or finally cleaning out your closet, make sure you’re focusing on the things that will make the biggest impact. 

Set time limits for each goal. Once you prioritize your goals, think about how long it will realistically take you to achieve each one. Trying to accomplish too much in too little time is a recipe for disaster, so be realistic with yourself.

Make a plan to achieve your goal: This is where those time limits come in handy. Once you know how long it will take you to achieve each goal, make a plan of when you’re going to work on each task.

For example, if your goal is to finish that project for work, block off an hour or two each day until it’s done. And if your goal is to clean out your closet, set aside 30 minutes once or twice a week until it’s finished—you get the idea!
